That’s the only plausible word to describe the FIFA World Cup Finals for the Women’s U.S.A. Soccer Team.
In a thrilling match which included overtime, Japan beat America 3-1 on penalty kicks. There will be many that say the U.S. should have won that game, but I am going to have to disagree. Even though Megan Rapinoe dominated the midfield, Abby Wambach got another goal with her head, and the entire U.S. team had 31 shots compared to Japan’s 17, Japan played like a deserved champion. They never gave up when twice they looked down and out and scored when they needed to most. Even though that game was difficult to swallow, you have to give Japan credit for what they did today – fight. Congratulations U.S.A. on a terrific run.
