The Rangers were spectacular at the plate tonight as they demolished the Minnesota Twins 20-6. To name just a few of the records they obtained, they had the most hits (27) and runs (20) in a game for the club this season (along with a league best number of hits), had the second most hits through the first 5 innings since 1974, and had at least 3 runs in each of the first five innings which has only happened three times since 1900. It was an amazing game to watch as every batter that stepped up to the plate – except Chris Davis – seemed to have complete control of his swing. It’s easy to simply focus on the hitting, but it shouldn’t go unnoticed that Derek Holland went 6 innings and only gave up 1 unearned run. Mike Napoli made him throw a lot of off-speed pitches, especially his curve ball, which is good for the young gun. Hopefully this victory can stimulate another big winning streak for our Texas Rangers.
