He’s done it… again.
Dirk Nowitzki was just selected to his eleventh All-Star Game tonight. Even though he is in the middle of his worst season (17.6 ppg and 6.2 rpg) since his sophomore season and said he didn’t believe he deserved to be at this event, I’m glad to see the league give him the respect to send the reigning NBA Finals MVP to Orlando.
There might have been more stastically qualified players out there for this game but having Dirk at this game is simply good for the league. I couldn’t be more happy for the big man, hopefully, he can use this game as fuel for the second part of the season.
Nowitzki joins Kevin Love (2nd appearance), LaMarcus Aldridge (1st appearance), Russell Westbrook (2nd appearance), Tony Parker (4th appearance), Steve Nash (8th appearance), and Marc Gasol (1st appearance) as the reserves for the Western Conference All-Star Team.
