Alex Morgan Alex Morgan #13  and the United States celebrate with the the gold medal after defeating Japan by a score of 2-1 to win the Women's Football gold medal match on Day 13 of the London 2012 Olympic Games at Wembley Stadium on August 9, 2012 in London, England.

Alex Morgan, Abby Wambach, Hope Solo and the rest of the United States women’s soccer team winning it all at the 2012 London Olympics shouldn’t come as a surprise. Since women’s soccer was implemented into the Summer Olympics in 1996, the U.S. team has made it to the Final match every year they have stepped onto a grass field. Of the five times they went to play for the gold, they were awarded this top medal four times.
